The life and times of Priyanka chopra
>> Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Priyanka Chopra was born to Ashok Chopra and Madhu Chopra, both doctors by profession. Since her father was in the Indian army, Priyanka got the opportunity to see almost every nook and corner of our country. She travelled from Leh-Ladakh to Kerala and from Mumbai to Jamshedpur during her childhood.
She completed her high school from Army School in Bareilly and joined Jai Hind College in Mumbai but left midway after winning the Miss World pageant in 2000. Priyanka became the fifth Indian woman to win the title.
Two years later she made her acting debut in the Tamil film Thamizhan opposite Vijay. Not many people know that she had also sung a song in the movie. Her first Bollywood movie Hero: The Love Story of a Spy, where she was cast opposite Sunny Deol, failed to impress the audience.
But her second release Andaaz earned Priyanka a Filmfare award in the Best Female Debut category. After that there was no looking back for this pretty lass. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Aitraaz, Krrish and Don - The Chase Begins followed.
In 2008, four of her releases bombed at the Box Office, but Fashion and Dostana became huge hits. Priyanka also won her first Filmfare Best Actress Award for Fashion.
Apart from her much publisised affair with ex-beau Haman Baweja, Priyanka has been linked up with almost all her co-stars starting from Sunny Deol to Akshay Kumar and the most recent Shahid Kapur.
Priyanka will soon be seen romancing Shahid in Vishal Bharadwaj's Kaminey and then her ex-beau in Ashutosh Gowariker's What's Your Rashee.
