Lucknow, April 21 (IANS) Samajwadi Party general secretary and Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has been booked for the second time for allegedly making offensive comments against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati during an election rally in Barabanki district, police said Tuesday.
“Sanjay Dutt used objectionable words against the chief minister in an election rally in Tikaitnagar locality of Barabanki April 19,” police inspector V.K. Mishra told IANS on phone.
A case against Dutt was registered Monday night under Section 294 (obscene act and songs) and Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
“Sanjay Dutt had made comments similar to those he made during an election rally in Pratapgarh district,” said Mishra.
Dutt had reportedly said “Main Mayawatiji ko jaadu ki jhappi aur pappi dono doonga (I will give both a hug and a kiss to Mayawati)” at a public meeting Thursday at K.P. College in Pratapgarh, about 150 km from here.
Dutt is now embroiled in three cases. The first case was registered against him April 14 for making communal remarks at a public meeting in Mau district.
